Competition Report by Sylvia Williams

29th East Anglian Audio Visual Competition

The Essex A/V Group, once again ran an excellent AV Competition on Saturday 22nd March for the second year on Zoom. With 45 entries and a good variety of subject matter all the sequences ran well due to the expertise of our judges Jill K Bunting CPAGB-AV LACI and John Smith APAGB CPAGB Hon LCPU. In their role as judges for the day, they were able to pin point all the nuances of the sound production and recognised the detailed elements that the photographers had incorporated into their entries.

All those that joined the Essex AV Group on line enjoyed landscapes with skilful dissolves and third images, documentaries with a lot of informative narrative and the essential humour sequences that always bring a smile to our faces. Additionally we were able to watch wildlife, nature and also to appreciate the creative and artistic aspects of a number of sequences that our AV friends were able to produce during a time of restriction and confinement. There were some personal and reflective AVs giving all of us that viewed the Competition a well rounded Audio Visual event.
